Chapter 224 224: Miracle – Bloodstone (2)

Chapter 224 224: Miracle – Bloodstone (2)

Hearing this, Feng Qi's mind filled with questions. He turned to the man wearing a supply zone staff cap and asked:

"If it's so important, why not airlift it directly to Old Day City?"

The man's face twisted into a bitter expression.

"We've attempted two airlifts, but the transport planes were shot down shortly after takeoff. Fortunately, the precious cargo was recovered by multiple battle groups we dispatched in time."

"Recovered?" Feng Qi seized on the key word.

"Yes, it seems many Domain-Transcending Creatures have their eyes on this item. There have been multiple attempts to seize it, including the two failed airlifts. That's why we've sought assistance from your Dawn Battle Group and several other renowned combat teams."

Now understanding the reason, Feng Qi's interest in the "precious cargo" grew even stronger.

He already had a rough idea of the item's origins.

Based on the available intelligence, he knew there was one thing all Domain Forces coveted: an item capable of accelerating the progress of Human Civilization.

A miracle item.

Examples included the Spirit Energy Clan's "consciousness database" and the miracle material used to create little black...

Seeking miracles was also the goal of the Prajna Domain Combat Team, led by the monk.

They believed that possessing a miracle might grant them the power to contend with the various Domain races.

Following the Spirit Energy Clan's path to rise, they aimed to propel Human Civilization's development by harnessing miracles.

However, the supply zone had sealed information about precious items, and the staff's clearance level was insufficient to determine the true nature of this object.

Therefore, he couldn't confirm whether it was indeed a miracle item, as he suspected.

At this thought, a flicker of anticipation stirred within him.

As the vehicle traveled along the road leading to the supply zone's small town, the azure sea stretched out in the distance. Waves crashed rhythmically against the sandy shore, while the cries of seagulls echoed through the sky.

Gazing further into the distance, he noticed the sea's horizon was shrouded by a dark curtain, enveloping the entire area.

This was clearly a Domain Field situated within the ocean.

An hour later, the vehicle came to a stop in the heart of the supply zone's small town.

After disembarking with the staff, they arrived at Hotel No. 3 within the supply zone. The staff then began assigning rooms to the personnel.

Following a simple registration process, each warrior received a room key.

After instructing them to rest first, Feng Qi led Liu Yue to the supply zone's recruitment hall, accompanied by the staff.

The recruitment hall in Old Day City was distinctive, its architecture resembling a soaring roc.

After entering the building and navigating through the crowd, they arrived at the elevator entrance of the recruitment hall and descended to the third basement level.

When the elevator doors opened, Feng Qi found himself in a mechanical storage room, filled with neatly arranged mechanical components.

"Go straight ahead. Our supervisor is over there. He'll explain the mission details to you. I don't have the clearance to hear them," the staff member said.

"Understood. Thank you for your help," Feng Qi replied with a nod.

Exiting the elevator, Feng Qi and Liu Yue followed the corridor to its end and pushed open the metal door.

They entered a pure white hall where numerous personnel in researcher uniforms were busily working.

A man about 1.8 meters tall, wearing glasses and sporting a full beard, approached them. He stopped in front of Feng Qi, smiled, and extended his hand.

"Hello, I'm Li Duo, the initiator of this mission."

His voice was hoarse, his complexion pale, and his smile seemed strained, as if he hadn't slept in days.

Feng Qi shook Li Duo's hand. "Feng Qi, leader of the Dawn Battle Group for this mission."

"Commander Mu Qing isn't here?"

"When your request for assistance arrived, Commander Mu Qing had already entered the Domain Field. We can't reach her for now. If you don't mind waiting a few more days, we could wait for her to return."

Hearing this, Li Duo nodded in understanding.

"We can't afford to wait any longer. It was already difficult enough to gather all the group leaders for this mission. Their respective territories are swamped with urgent matters, and this item needs to be delivered as soon as possible. Otherwise, I fear something might go wrong."

Intrigued, Feng Qi couldn't help but ask, "Chief Li, what exactly is this item that's so important? Could I see it?"

Li Duo didn't hesitate to answer. He nodded immediately. "Follow me."

With that, he turned and headed toward one side of the laboratory.

Feng Qi followed closely behind.

Reaching the far left end of the lab, they passed through three consecutive metal security doors before entering a sealed chamber.

Through the chamber's transparent glass wall, Feng Qi saw a large, uneven, blood-red stone resting on an experimental platform in the adjacent compartment.

Sensing his confusion, Li Duo explained, "This is it. Our analysis indicates that this fragment is incomplete. Simulations suggest it represents only one-tenth, or even less, of the original whole."

"Your report mentioned that this object could advance Human Civilization?"

In response to the question, Li Duo nodded.

"Yes, did you notice the notch on the right side of the stone?"

Following Li Duo's gaze, Feng Qi saw a metal bucket positioned to the right of the stone. Red liquid dripped from the notch into the bucket.

Upon closer inspection, he noticed that the crimson liquid solidified mid-air, transforming into a small, blood-red stone.

He recognized this stone immediately.

It was the miracle stone the assassin had given him as compensation.

"This bloodstone is exceptionally unique. It can create 49 small blood-red stones per hour. If infused with high-purity spiritual energy, its production rate can be further increased. Regardless of how many bloodstones it produces, its own weight remains constant, defying the laws of physics."

"As for the small blood-red stones it produces, they possess an incredible effect: they can subtly enhance the upper limit of the consumer's bloodline strength potential."

After hearing Li Duo's explanation, Feng Qi was certain of one thing.

This bloodstone was one of the "miracle" items coveted by the Domain Powerhouses.

Although the bloodstone was only a fragment, its value was immeasurable. The small bloodstones it produced were precious resources capable of enhancing humanity's growth potential.

This was evident in the desperate desire of the weak-race assassins from the past.

With this thought, he turned to Li Duo and asked, "Chief Li, where exactly did you obtain this bloodstone?"

"On their way back from a mission in the Black Flag Domain Battle Group, they encountered a severely wounded Blue-Skinned Domain Transcendent Creature. After killing it, they retrieved this item."

"Blue-skinned?"

Li Duo's description immediately reminded him of the Blue-skinned Assassin.

"The specimen is in the next room. Would you like to see it?"

"Please," he nodded immediately.

He followed Li Duo into the adjacent specimen room.

The spacious room was filled with specimens of various domain creatures.

As his gaze swept across the room, he immediately noticed the Blue-skinned Assassin's specimen.

At that moment, Li Duo pulled a small metal box from his pocket and retrieved a small, round black sphere from within.

"We also found this on its person. After analyzing it with our instruments, we discovered that this sphere emits faint waves that connect to the bloodstone."

Feng Qi's heart jolted at these words.

He reached out and took the little black sphere, then retraced his steps to the bloodstone.

He fully unleashed his mental energy.

He sensed the faint waves emanating from the black sphere.

Two faint threads extended from it: one connected to the bloodstone, and the other to himself.

As he perceived this, a hypothesis formed in his mind.

This little black sphere could locate miracle items.

The Blue-skinned Assassins were collecting miracle items everywhere.

A new question surfaced in his mind.

He wasn't a miracle item, so why could the black sphere locate him? And why had it led the Blue-skinned Assassins to target him?
